Job summary

A regional health care facility in Rocky Mount is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift position. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to provide and supervise patient care, coordinating care plans, and educating patients and families. Candidates should possess an RN license, BLS certification, and preferably ACLS certification. Experience in inpatient nursing is preferred. Qualifications

• RN License in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred initially.
• ACLS is REQUIRED from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide patient and family education for post-hospitalization.
• May perform Charge Nurse duties as assigned or requested

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
