Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Neurology RN (8 East) to deliver direct patient care using the nursing process and to collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

New grads and experienced nurses are welcome. This full-time role is 36 hours per week on the Night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with weekend coverage, supporting patients with strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) or within 30 days of hire.

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
