Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Neurology 8 East unit. The role involves direct patient care, neuro assessments, and coordinated care with physicians and therapists.

New grads and experienced nurses welcome; night and weekend shifts, full-time schedule with 36 hours per week. Location: Mercy Hospital South, 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128, Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process and coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and documentation.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with Mercy's mission.

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
