Job summary

Mercy Hospital South seeks a Registered Nurse for Neurology 8 East. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, perform ongoing assessments, and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

New grads and experienced nurses welcome. This night shift role is full-time 36 hours per week at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, with a focus on safety, compassionate care, and patient rights per Mercy policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Schedule:Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift:Nights, Weekend | 7:00 PM - 7:00AM

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
