Mercy Hospital is seeking a Neurology RN for 8 East to join our night-shift team. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, coordinate with the care team, and document care while upholding Mercy’s values. The unit handles complex neuro cases, requiring teamwork and ongoing skill development.

New grads and experienced nurses are welcome. Location is Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO; schedule is full-time, 36 hours weekly, nights and weekends from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri or a compact state.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).
• Prior hospital or acute-care experience preferred.

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
