Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO seeks a Neurology RN for Medical 8 East, nights, full-time. New grads and experienced nurses welcome; shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours/week.

The Neurology 8 East unit treats strokes, seizures, brain tumors and brain bleeds. You will deliver direct patient care, perform assessments, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and document care while upholding Mercy’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in Missouri or compact state.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in collaboration with physicians and teams.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and plan coordination of care.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.

Schedule:Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift:Nights, Weekend | 7:00 PM - 7:00AM

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
