Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its float pool on a PRN basis. The role requires 1+ year of hospital nursing experience and 3 12-hour shifts.

You will work across multiple specialties, with responsibilities spanning patient assessments, interventions, and interdisciplinary care planning. The position emphasizes documentation accuracy, adherence to care plans, and ongoing certifications (BLS within 30 days; ACLS/PALS within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• 1–2 years bedside RN experience.
• Preferred 2–4 years critical care experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
• Assist patients, families, and interdisciplinary team in implementing the patient’s plan of care.

Tiering Information

Tier 1 ($54.81): Float to Nephrology/Oncology, 4N, Neo Progressive Care Unit, Nursing Rehab, Telemetry, Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU), Surgical Unit.

Tier 2 ($60.90): Requires all Tier 1 criteria and competency to float to two of the following specialty areas: Cardiovascular Unit (CVICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Emergency Department (ED), Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDRP).

Certifications Required per Tier

• NEON: BLS.
• 4N: BLS.
• NSPCU: BLS; ACLS and NIH within 3 months.
• Rehab: BLS.
• Telemetry: BLS; ACLS within 3 months.
• IMCU: BLS; ACLS and NIH within 3 months.
• Surgical: BLS.

Minimum Work Experience

At least two (2) years as a Registered Nurse (unless prior LPN experience).
