Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on the Nights shift. The role requires 1–2 years of bedside RN experience with critical care exposure and a valid RN license. BLS is required within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within six months.

Sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 with a 2-year commitment supports this position. As a member of the Float Team, you will deliver direct patient care, assess needs, and document interventions, while

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care suited to patient condition and age.
  • Document medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Contribute to and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
  • Complete and review quality improvement assessments.

accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of
the Float Team to implement the patient's plan of care.
Provides population specific care and meets the
developmental needs of populations served.

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We Are Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license.

Additional Requirements Include

Bachelors degree preferred but not required

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • Handle with Care preferred
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of beside RN experience required
  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of Critical Care experience preferred

Tier 1 Float to: Nephrology/Oncology (NEON); 4N; Neuro Progressive Care Unit; Nursing Rehab; Telemetry.
Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU); Surgical Unit

Certifications Required For Tier I

NEON: BLS required

4 North: BLS required

NPCU: BLS required. ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.

Rehab: BLS required

Telemetry: BLS required. ACLS within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.

IMCU: BLS required. ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.

Surgical: BLS required.

Tier I: $54.81

Tier 2: Meet all Tier 1 criteria and be competent to float to two (2) of the specialty areas: Cardiovascular Unit
(CVICU); Critical Care Unit (CCU); Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU); Emergency Department (ED);
Labor/Delivery/Recovery (L&D)

Certifications Required For Tier 2

CVICU: BLS required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.

CCU: BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.

NICU: BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.

ED: BLS required. ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position., ASLS and TNCC preferred.

LDRP: BLS required. ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.

Nursery: BLS required. NRP within three months of hire or transfer into the position.

Tier II: $60.90
Minimum Work Experience

At least two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required (unless previous LPN experience).
