Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Float Pool RN for nights on a full‑time basis with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. The role involves a 3x12 schedule (7p–7a) with rotating weekends, and cross‑unit coverage to meet patient care needs.

As a Float RN you will plan and deliver care, administer medications, monitor patient status, assist with activities of daily living, and coordinate with the care team to support transfers, discharge planning and family communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Kentucky.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program (ASCN/BSN preferred).
• Clinical critical care experience is required or strongly preferred.
• Current certifications: BCLS; ACLS and PALS per unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, and mentoring to staff; participates in evaluations.
• Performs staff responsibilities to meet service level requirements.

2 years of critical care experience

Our Float RNs are adaptable professionals with diverse expertise. They float to almost all areas of the hospital and must be able to adjust to what's needed quickly.

How you'll contribute

A Float RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• Current RN to practice in the state of KY
• 2 years of critical care experience
• Certifications: BCLS; ACLS & PALS per unit specific requirements
