Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in the Advanced Care Unit for full-time night shifts (3x12) with rotating weekends. A $10,000 sign-on bonus accompanies this critical care RN position.

As part of Lifepoint Health, you will provide comprehensive patient care, document treatments, collaborate with the care team, and support families. Applicants should hold an RN license and a nursing degree, with ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required and an associates degree in nursing.
• KY RN licensure or compact licensure required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including meds, specimens, and treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor condition with the care team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and support transfers.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families appropriate to age and condition.

More About Our Team

Last year, Centerpoint - Winchester broke ground on an expansion for the intensive care unit (ICU). The expansion signifies a 75% increase in capacity for the ICU, adding six beds to the eight that are currently available. The new construction also includes the expansion of an ACU unit and build-out space for a new surgical suite, enabling Winchester to expand surgery as the needs of the community demand.

How You'll Contribute

An ACU RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
