Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Paris, part of Lifepoint Health, is a 58-bed acute care facility in the Bluegrass. The RN Float Pool role supports multiple departments, with after-hours leadership and patient care responsibilities.

This full-time Night shift requires Kentucky RN license, associates degree, and a minimum of 2 years bedside RN experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. Our team emphasizes compassionate care and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky RN license (or compact state license).
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Minimum 2 years bedside RN experience.
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred; Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours leadership and act as a resource for staff.
• Assist in patient care and maintain overall quality of care.
• Perform plan-of-care interventions including medication administration and specimen collection.
• Document care promptly and accurately in the patient record.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team and families.
• Float to multiple departments as needed and support staff.

Centerpoint Health - Paris also offers services in Behavioral Health consisting of a 33-bed inpatient facility. Our multi-disciplinary approach enlists the services of a dedicated team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, and Kentucky certified teachers. Our Behavioral Health department also utilizes certified therapy dogs in the healing process when applicable.

Our Float RNs are adaptable professionals with diverse expertise. They float to almost all areas of the hospital and must be able to adjust to what's needed quickly.

How You'll Contribute

Provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility. Reports to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call.

A Float (RN) Who Excels In This Role

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred; Handle with Care preferred. 2 years minimum bedside RN experience required
