Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Critical Care System Wide Float Pool. Critical Care Track covers any adult critical care, telemetry or transitional care unit at Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence & Ft. Thomas, and Dearborn facilities, as well as boarding assignments in ED, PACU, ICU. Weekly Hours/Shift: 36, 7P-7A.

Job Description

The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse responsible for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to ethical and cultural standards, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes, and demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy to all patients, families, visitors, and employees.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, holds a BSN, and licensed in Kentucky or Indiana, or holds a state license letter of eligibility.
• Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses. Focus of education promotes competence in the assigned clinical area.

Specialized Knowledge

• Knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies, and competence in mathematical calculations for medication administration.
• Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
• Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations.
• Has demonstrated competencies for the assigned clinical area.

Required Experience

• At least 18 months of clinical RN nursing experience.
• Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
