Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare in Galax, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Float Pool. Schedule is full-time nights (7p-7a) with rotating weekends, in a rural hospital serving a Medicare population.

You’ll gain diverse unit experience while contributing to high-quality patient care and process improvements. The role requires an RN license in VA or a compact state, BLS within 30 days, ACLS/PALS within 6 months, and TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Current VA or compact RN license.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS & Advanced Stroke course required within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate care to meet patient needs per hospital policies.
• Apply nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Work with all age groups from infants to geriatrics.

How you'll contribute

• Supervise and coordinate care in a manner to ensure that patient needs are provided in an efficient manner and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Possess the knowledge to safely apply theory and practice using the Nursing Process of Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
• Ability to work with all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Ability to work with Paragon applications (Electronic Medical Record), as well as other computer systems for patient care.

What we're looking for

• Applicants should have a current VA or compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS & Advanced Stroke course are required within 6 months of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core course (TNCC) preferred.
• At least two (2) years of clinical experience is required in Critical Care, ED, PACU or similar.
• Must respond within 60 minutes if placed on call.

Twin County Regional Healthcare (TCRH) is located in Galax, Virginia, which is in the center of the Twin Counties of Grayson and Carroll in Southwest Virginia. TCRH is a 141-bed facility that includes acute care, ambulatory care and emergency services. TCRH is considered a rural hospital that serves a large Medicare population, as well as, a total population of approximately 60,000.

Hourly Range: $38.30 - $49.11
