Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time ED role offers a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and a competitive hourly wage, with supportive colleagues and a mission to serve a rural community.

As an ED nurse, you will assess, plan, and coordinate patient care, supervise and delegate appropriately, and engage in professional development and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current VA or compact RN license required.
• 1 year ED experience preferred.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s age in the ED.
• Assess data reflecting patient status and plan age-appropriate care.
• Supervise, coordinate, and delegate patient care per hospital policy.
• Engage in performance improvement and nursing research practices.

How you'll contribute

• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the ED.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
• Supervise, coordinate, and delegate patient care in a manner which ensures that patient needs are provided in an efficient manner, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and scope of practice by position.
• Professionalism - Applies knowledge to practice through participation in performance improvement activities and application of nursing research

What we're looking for

• Applicant should have a current VA or compact RN license
• One year ED experience preferred
• BLS required within 30 days of hire, or prior to completion of orientation if 30 days before hire
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months
• Advanced Stroke Course preferred
