Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking an RN for our Float Pool. You will rotate through multiple units on the night shift and provide high-quality nursing care using the nursing process.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, teaching, rapid response to changes, and collaboration with physicians. BSN preferred; ability to float to two units and maintain competency is required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required (PALS for certain units).
• TNCC within 12 months for employees floating to Emergency Department.
• BSN preferred.
• Able to float to two units and maintain competency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Communicate with physician about changes in the patient’s condition including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptoms.

Overview

• Department: Float Pool
• Schedule: Nights, 7:00pm-7:30am, 12-hour shifts
• Facility: Resurrection Medical Center
• Location: Chicago, IL 60631

Responsibilities

As a RN in our Float Pool, you will experience the multiple units and specialties that Resurrection has to offer. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Communicate with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. (Only required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient.)
• NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.
