Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a Night shift ER Registered Nurse in Tyler, TX to provide nursing care across the lifespan with a multidisciplinary team. You will work in a fast-paced environment, delivering patient-centered care aligned with physician orders and hospital policies.

The role requires ADN or higher, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, and orientation-end certifications (PALS/ENPC, NIHSS). Prior ER or acute care experience is preferred for optimal performance.

Qualifications

• UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
