Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for the evening shift in Tyler, TX. You will deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, trauma-centered environment with a collaborative team.

Required: ADN, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC with NIHSS certification by orientation end. ER or acute care experience preferred. Join our people-first hospital system and grow professionally.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN).
  • Must maintain current Texas RN License.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Responsibilities

  • Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
  • Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
  • Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy
