Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Pre-Op RN to join our operating suite. The role delivers direct pre-operative nursing assessment, prepares patients for surgery, and supports families through the perioperative process.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume setting at UT Health Tyler, a Level I trauma center, and participate in ongoing education and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Must maintain current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS within 90 days of hire.
• Competence in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care medications that may or may not need to be titrated.
• Thorough knowledge of airway management and rescue methods.
• Pediatric/Adult Phase 1 and Phase 2.
• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN Standards.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and directs patient care using the nursing process for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• Collaborates with the care team to deliver high-quality pre-operative nursing care.
• Maintains knowledge of ASPAN Standards.
