Job summary

The role requires TX RN licensure, ADN, and current BLS; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS certifications due by orientation end. One year of emergency nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas RN license and ADN.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS required before the end of orientation.
• PALS or ENPC required before the end of orientation.
• NIHSS certification required before the end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric with a multidisciplinary approach.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on assessment and implements a plan of care.
• Delivers care per physician orders and hospital protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
• Delivers care consistent with the physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
