Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Float Pool in the Days shift. The position operates on a 3 x 12-hour schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with an hourly rate of $50.

You will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and float to support departments as needed. The ideal candidate has Virginia RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 3 months, and PALS/ENPC within 6 months, plus two years in ICU or ED.

Qualifikationen

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Two years hospital nursing experience in ICU and/or Emergency Department preferred.

• Perform plan-of-care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document care provided accurately and timely.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living (hygiene, nutrition, mobility).
• Float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborate with disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Assess learning needs and provide age- and culture-appropriate patient education.
• Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.

A RN Float who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

What we're looking for

• Applicants must have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.Associate degree in nursing required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• ACLS American Heart Association or must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) Emergency Nurse Association required or within six (6) months of hire.
• Must have two (2) years hospital nursing experience in ICU and/or Emergency Department required.
