Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health unit on nights. This 7P-7A, full-time position requires 36 hours per week, including every other weekend, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus eligibility.

You’ll perform plan-of-care interventions, document care, monitor patient status, assist with activities of daily living, coordinate across disciplines, provide education, and advocate for patient well-being while contributing to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.
