Major/Essential Functions
  • Coordinate daily operations by making and monitoring dailystaff assignments to ensure smooth workflow and taskcompletion.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document andcommunicate patient information, supporting informed clinicaldecision-making.
  • Assist with or perform medical exams and procedures, ensuringtimely documentation of all clinical interventions in the EHR.
  • Administer or assist in administering medications, includingaccurate documentation of all medication-related activities.
  • Actively participate in team communication by attendingmeetings and relaying key updates and initiatives during regularstaff meetings.
  • Stay current with best practices and treatment modalities toprovide the highest quality of care in a correctional healthsetting.
  • Monitor and ensure timely Access to Care for patients indesignated housing units during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain safety and accountability by performing anddocumenting physical counts of sharps, instruments, and facilitykeys.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as part of the clinical supportteam.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of professionalnursing or scheduled to complete a program of professional nursingwithin 120 days of applying for a position. Current RegisteredNursing license in the state of Texas or the attainment of atemporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice professionalnursing pending full licensure in the state of Texas. New graduatesmust pass the National Council Licensure Examination for RegisteredNurses (NCLEX- RN) on the first attempt. No experiencerequired.
