Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care within the Lamesa Smith Unit at TTUHSC. You will supervise the day shift under the Unit Director of Nurses, perform general and specialized nursing duties, and ensure adherence to policy and patient safety.

You will rotate with a compassionate, patient-centered team, administer medications, document in EMR, participate in quality audits, and support unit goals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Two years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months of that as an RN.
  • Valid, current RN license approved by the Texas State Board.

  • Makes daily assignments and ensures completion of tasks.
  • Communicates patient data using EMR to support decision making and improve patient care.

As a Charge Nurse, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team by providing high-quality nursing care and supporting unit objectives and administrative policies. You will work under the supervision of the Unit Director of Nurses, performing both general and specialized nursing duties within your legal scope of practice. In this role, you will assist the Director of Nurses in overseeing clinic personnel and may step in for them when they are absent. You will also interact regularly with both patients and clinic staff to ensure the delivery of safe and competent care.

Required Qualifications

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.
