Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for Yorkville & Upper East Side locations in New York, NY. The role features 4/10 shifts, Tue–Fri, with an RDO on Monday.

You will administer chemotherapy and related therapies, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality cancer care. The ideal candidate holds a NYS RN license, BLS, and strong clinical skills in assessment, communication, and organization.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, and supportive care meds as prescribed.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs; document in MAR.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team to share expertise.
• Participate in cancer research trials per protocol.
• Provide resources to patients and caregivers.
• Educate patients and families about treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Yorkville & Upper East Side, NY Tue & Thu-UES/Wed & Fri-Yorkville)

Hours/Days: 4/10 hour shifts, Tue-Fri 8a-6p (RDO Mon)

Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In This Role, You Will:

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.
• Chart the patient's response to treatment and medication.
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services

We Require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
