Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Yorktown, NY location. Join a dedicated team delivering world-class cancer care with a patient-centered approach.

In this role you will administer chemotherapy and supportive medications, monitor vital signs, document care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in clinical trials. We offer comprehensive benefits and a competitive starting wage.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol.
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness.
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services.

Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Yorktown, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm

In This Role, You Will

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician

We Require

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
