Job summary

New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS) in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a Head Nurse (RN) to lead nursing staff across shifts and uphold our patient‑centered quality of care. You will manage all nursing duties, assign patient loads, review medication orders, train new hires, and maintain a safe, efficient environment to ensure timely and compassionate treatment.

NYS RN license and a minimum of two years in a managerial role are required; BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid New York State RN license.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong assessment and communication skills are essential.
• Experience managing nursing staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of nursing responsibilities during each shift.

Job Description: Head Nurse (RN)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Working Days: 4 Days (Thurs - Regular Day Off)

Hours: 8am-6pm

Organization: New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In this role, you will:

• Manage all aspects of nursing responsibilities during each shift.
• Including and not limited to, assigning patient assignments, medication orders, training of new hires and management of a safe environment for staff and patients alike with focus on providing efficient, timely and knowledgeable care while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction.
• The Head Nurse is responsible for making sure those values are reflected in their staff at all times.

We require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Must have a minimum of two years in a managerial role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs.
