Lambstaffing is seeking an experienced RN for Postpartum/GYN travel assignments at a high-volume Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital. The unit handles vaginal and cesarean deliveries with critical post-partum monitoring and rapid turnover.

2+ years of Postpartum experience is preferred, and first-time travelers are welcome. The nurse will support a busy unit with 1:3-4 patient ratios, use EPIC for documentation, and work with a full interdisciplinary team, including 24/7 hospitalist and telemetry

About Facility:

• Level 1 Trauma Designation
• Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center

Unit Information:

• Beds: 2
• Experience: 2+ years Postpartum RN experience
• First-time travelers welcome

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Vaginal and C-section deliveries, at time overflow hysterectomies but not often

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:3-4 couplets
• CNA: 2-3 per shift

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• BCR (Basic Cardiac Rythm) required - meaning traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of Compliance
• ACLS
• NRP
• Fetal Monitoring

Skills required:

• Strong clinical assessment and Mother Baby skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital
• IV insertion and care, central line management
• Care coordination with interdisciplinary teams

Support within the Department:

• CNA duties: Yes - assist with VS, Glucose Checks, baths, feeding, ambulating patients, assisting turning patients, hourly rounding, transporting patients as needed (Hospital has designated Transport Team); obtain blood from blood bank
• Unit secretary/HUC: Unit secretary on unit 7a-11p; then house wide call secretary 11p-7a
• Charge nurse - may have patients
• Phlebotomy: Most units are lab collect phlebotomy; nurses drawn from CVLs
• IV/VAT team: Not an IV team - do have a PICC team
• Resource nurse: Yes, we have discharge nurses, resource team floats to all units
• RT 24/7: yes
• Hospitalist 24/7: yes
• Intensivist 24/7: yes
• Telemetry monitor tech: Central Telemetry Unit

Floating:

• All adult med surg / telemetry units in house

Orientation (facility and unit):

• 1 day orientation with work on educational modules
• 2 days departmental
