Job summary

Lambstaffing is seeking an RN for Pediatric OR in a facility with Level 1 trauma designation and teaching hospital status. The nurse will circulate pediatric surgical cases, maintain 1:1 patient care, and collaborate with the OR team to ensure safety and efficiency.

Requirements include RN license, BLS and PALS, and 2+ years of pediatric OR experience. On-site, shifts vary, with support from 24/7 hospital staff and resources.

Responsibilities

• Circulating OR nurse for pediatric surgical cases.
• Assist with 1:1 patient care and monitoring.
• Coordinate with CNA, transport team, and OR staff.
• Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment and monitors (EPIC, Pyxis, Alaris).
• Support 24/7 hospital operations on the pediatric surgical unit.

• Beds: 4 OR Rooms
• Experience: 2+ years

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Surgical Patients 18 years old and under (some special needs of all ages ex: dental)

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:1

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• RN License
• BLS and PALS

Skills required:

• OR skills - circulating surgical cases

Support within the Department:

• CNA duties: Yes CAN- assist with VS, Glucose Checks, baths, transporting patients as needed (Hospital has designated Transport Team); obtain blood from blood bank
• Charge nurse: yes- each unit
• Phlebotomy: Nurse draws labs
• IV/VAT team: NO IV Team
• Resource nurse: No
• RT 24/7: yes

• Holiday Expectations:
• RTO Requests: Manager approval
• Shift times: 7a-3p; 8a-4p; 7a-4p; 8a-5p
• Schedule cycle: ex) every 6 weeks

• Scrub Color: RN- Surgical Green- scrub exchange system (scrubs issued)
• Parking: Free parking lots around campus but also does have paid parking garage available - $30/month paid in advance for a total of $90 for a 13-week contract

Active state license in good standing; minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty; BLS, ACLS required for clinical roles; references upon request
