Job summary

Ascension at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after pediatric surgical procedures in a fast-paced setting.

You will monitor patient status, document in the EHR, and perform circulating and scrub nurse duties while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safety, efficiency, and outstanding clinical outcomes on the night shift.

Qualifications

• Texas RN license required prior to hire date.
• ALS or ACLS within 180 days of hire; BLS within 30 days.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver Operating Room Registered Nurse care by providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Coordinate patient care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient surgical workflows, clear communication, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
• Perform circulating nurse responsibilities by monitoring patient status, documenting care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide scrub nurse support by maintaining sterile technique, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons to promote procedural efficiency and patient safety.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 1 plus years OR RN experience with pediatric OR RN experience a plus.
• 36 hours per week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6:30pm - 7am.
