Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Dell Children’s Center North in Austin, TX, to provide direct pediatric acute care during night shifts. The role emphasizes safe care, accurate documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

With Texas RN licensure and BLS current, you’ll work within a supportive, faith-based health system. Pediatric care, discharges, and care coordination are key responsibilities in this PRN/night setting.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license from Texas Board of Nursing.
• BLS provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Safe Direct Care: provide hands-on patient care and follow physician orders safely.
• Track & Communicate Status: keep detailed patient progress notes and update care team.
• Coordinate Interdisciplinary Care: collaborate with doctors, therapists to ensure safe discharges.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver Safe Direct Care: Provide hands-on patient care and execute physician orders safely in full compliance with organizational standards and guidelines.


• Track & Communicate Status: Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient progress and communicate status updates promptly to the healthcare team.


• Coordinate Interdisciplinary Care: Partner with doctors, specialists, and therapists to deliver seamless treatment and organize safe, well-planned patient discharges.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
