Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Pensacola, FL is seeking a PACU RN for the evening, full-time schedule to provide direct nursing care post-anesthesia. You will follow sterile technique per AORN/ASPAN standards and evaluate patient responses to treatments.

The role requires a Florida RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS within specified times, and at least one year of ICU RN experience; PACU experience is a plus. Competitive benefits provided by Ascension Health.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period.
• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program required.

Work Experience

• One year of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse is required.
• Previous experience in a critical care or PACU setting is preferred.
