Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Inpatient unit in Newburgh, IN. You’ll cover full-time night shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am, with some holidays and weekends. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based nursing care, monitoring recovery, coordinating with physicians and therapists, and preparing patients and families for safe transitions home.

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse credentialed by the Indiana Board of Nursing before hire date.

• Prepare patients and their families for life after the hospital by leading comprehensive discharge planning that ensures a safe and confident transition home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences

• BSN preferred
• 2+ years of Ortho or Med Surg experience preferred
