Job summary

Ascension Via Christi is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Surgery department in Wichita, KS. This full-time evening shift role requires coordinating patient care, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing is required.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Drive shift performance and staff development by assigning, mentoring, and evaluating nursing and support teams to foster a high-performing unit.
• Optimize daily patient assignments through active needs assessments, ensuring tailored, population-appropriate care for every patient.
• Elevate clinical outcomes by continuously assessing care quality, proactively identifying bottlenecks, and implementing immediate solutions.
• Protect the patient experience by swiftly addressing concerns and resolving care complaints through appropriate channels.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.

• One or more of the following required:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
