Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to serve as a circulating nurse in the Women’s Operating Room. You will support patient care, ensure sterile technique, and coordinate intraoperative activities with the surgical team.

The role requires TN or Compact State RN licensure, ACLS and BLS readiness within required timeframes, and a Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN credential in Tennessee or a multi‑state Compact State license.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Advocate & Care Strategist: monitor patient condition and communicate with clinical precision to ensure a safe transition to recovery.
• Safety & Precision Sentinel: act as final authority on the sterile field and manage patient positioning, equipment, and supplies with 100% accuracy.
• Master of OR Operations: lead room rhythm, prepare technology and supplies to ensure flawless procedures.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Clinical Advocate & Care Strategist: You are the patient's primary voice during their most vulnerable moments. By monitoring, recording, and communicating their condition with clinical precision, you ensure a safe, seamless transition to recovery.
• Safety & Precision Sentinel: Serve as the final authority on the sterile field. You’ll maintain absolute integrity over patient positioning, equipment optimization, and supply management, ensuring 100% accuracy from the first incision to the final closure.
• Master of OR Operations: Lead the rhythm of the room. By staying three steps ahead of the surgical team, you’ll orchestrate the preparation of cutting‑edge technology and supplies to ensure every procedure is executed flawlessly.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi‑state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
• hire.
