Qualifications

  • 2 years of OR nursing experience required, ASC experience preferred.
  • Must have current RN license and relevant certifications.

Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Boulder Surgery Center)

Job Overview: Join our orthopedics practice as an Operating Room RN, where you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. Department: OR

Reports to: OR Manager

Schedule/Type: FT - onsite/hourly

Wage: $36-52/hr, commensurate with experience

Bonus Eligibility: No

Essential Duties:

  • Performs circulating functions before surgery, including preparing the operating environment, orienting and assessing the patient, and reviewing patient's medical record and surgeon's notes to ensure all pre-requisites and preferences are met.
  • Ensures safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.
  • Performs circulating functions during surgery, including monitoring and communicating patient condition, documenting interventions and activities, and monitoring the sterile field.
  • Assists with scrub functions, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure.
  • Provides nursing care to a complex, high acuity surgical patient population in a technically complex environment.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Upholding patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Experience Required: 2 years of OR nursing (RN) experience. Previous ASC experience in an Orthopedic setting preferred.

Education/Certification requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing: Bachelors Preferred
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
  • BCLS & ACLS certification required.
