RN Clinical Team Lead - PACU
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303

$37.89- $56.83 an hour - Half-Time Days, 24 hours per week
+$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN Clinical Team Lead for PACU who will serve as a department leader, mentor, and role model. The CTL is responsible for the department in the absence of the Manager and/or Director. The role emphasizes patient safety, patient-centered and relationship-based care, and fostering a healthy work environment, aligning with the BCH mission.

Qualifications
•Colorado RN license in good standing
•Basic Life Support (BLS) required through the American Heart Association
•Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required through American Heart Association
•Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire for all PACU RNs required to participate in on-call rotation. RNs with a secondary job code are not required to take on-call shifts.
•BSN preferred
•Minimum of 6 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities
•Supervise RN staff, Nurse Externs, Volunteers, PCA, UC, and other support staff.
•Support staff development and growth in collaboration with the unit manager by promoting excellence in care, providing growth opportunities, and addressing behavioral issues.
•Intervene in conflicts and assist in problem-solving; escalate unresolved issues to the nurse manager, ARN, or patient representative.
•Achieve shift goals related to budget, waste reduction, and HPPD.
•Provide positive recognition, constructive feedback, and coaching to staff.
•Coordinate shift operations, including early discharge, admissions, staffing, and planning for pending admits, to meet hospital and unit metrics.
•Ensure staffing and assignments meet unit HPPD and balance acuity, experience, and ability.
•Communicate patient safety concerns related to flow, staffing, and admissions to the ARN and unit manager.
•Negotiate and find compromises to meet demand, with final decisions made by the ARN if conflicts arise.
•Promote relationship-based care focusing on patient safety, quality, and service excellence.
•Maintain effective communication, foster a calm work environment, and support staff.
•Enhance patient safety hospital-wide by improving flow, fostering interdepartmental relationships, and building trust.
•Follow escalation protocols for issues, concerns, and quality matters.
•Mentor and support staff development through educational opportunities, orientation support, and sharing patient stories.
