*Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to serve as a dedicated patient caregiver. The Medical Assistant will ensure the smooth operation of physicians' clinics within CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center. Responsibilities include greeting patients, gathering and reporting medical histories, securing physician-ordered interventions, placing orders and referrals, preparing patients for injections, casting, splinting, fitting braces, and coordinating patient flow. The Medical Assistant will triage phone calls, assist with prescription refills, provide follow-up care instructions, and maintain clinic inventory.
CU Sports Medicine is a premier sports medicine practice based in Boulder, offering expert care to athletes and active individuals of all ages. Affiliated with the University of Colorado, the practice provides treatment for sports injuries, injury prevention, and performance optimization. The team includes orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers, specializing in musculoskeletal conditions from sprains to complex injuries requiring surgery. The practice emphasizes personalized care to help patients recover quickly and return to their peak performance, whether professional athletes or weekend warriors.

Qualifications:
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program preferred, or
• Pass a national Medical Assistant Certification exam preferred.
• BLS certification required by the end of the conditional period.
Responsibilities:
• Direct patients to appropriate treatment rooms and perform patient intake.
• Provide patient education as appropriate.
• Assist physicians and physical therapy staff with patient treatments within scope.
• Implement physicians' orders (e.g., x-rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, physical therapy).
• Prepare and assist with injections.
• Remove sutures.
• Cast, splint, fit braces, and handle medical equipment.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Maintain clinic and treatment areas, including examination and cast rooms.
• Ensure supply areas, labs, and refrigerators are properly maintained.
