Job summary

Premise Health Inc. invites you to join as a PRN Registered Nurse, Occupational Health. You will care for client employees at Health Centers in Gastonia, Mt. Holly, and Gaffney, NC, providing first aid, medical surveillance, and injury care.

The role offers first, second, and third shift options for an experienced RN, with training provided for BAT/UDS experiences. Competitive pay and wellness benefits accompany a flexible, independent schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in NC state.
• COHN/COHN-S or related certs preferred.
• BLS certification mandatory; ACLS may be required per contract.
• Minimum three years as RN in occupational health, ER, or ambulatory care.
• Experience promoting safe, healthy workplaces and return-to-work programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for clinical operations and physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC).
• Evaluate and prioritize patient care within scope of practice.
• Deliver evidence-based care to injured workers and coordinate case management with TPA and client.
• Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Perform tests and treatments (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision) and document results.
• Administer medications and emergency care within legal scope.
• Maintain equipment, environment cleanliness, and infection control.
• Maintain accurate patient health records and data.

As a PRN Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Gastonia, Mt. Holly and Gaffney, NC.

• Make an impact across three health centers — Support employees at our Gastonia, Mt. Holly, and Gaffney locations while gaining valuable experience across multiple workplace health settings.
• Put your clinical expertise to work — Enjoy a moderate-paced environment where you'll provide first aid and emergency response, treat workplace injuries, and perform medical surveillance, including hearing and respiratory testing.
• Enjoy flexibility and autonomy — This PRN, offers first, second and third-shift opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN who values independence and variety. BAT and UDS experience is a plus, but we’ll provide training to help you succeed.

What You'll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams
