Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health to support our Liberty, NC Health Center. You’ll provide care to client employees on Wednesdays, 6 PM–6 AM, delivering evidence-based occupational health services in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, clinical operations, injury care, and coordination with TPA and clients. The role requires an RN license in the state and at least 3 years in occupational health; BLS is required, ACLS may

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice required.
• Certificate from accredited Nursing School or ADN; BSN preferred.
• COHN/COHN-S certification preferred and may be required for some sites.
• Current BLS/AHA Basic Life Support training required; ACLS may be required.
• Minimum three years’ experience as RN in occupational health or related setting.
• Experience promoting healthy, safe, productive workplaces and return-to-work practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to client employees in the Health Center.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for clinical operations and required evaluations.
• Evaluate and treat injured workers, coordinate case management with TPA and client.
• Implement transitional duty programs and monitor outcomes.
• Perform and document medical tests (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Administer medications and emergency care within scope.
• Maintain equipment and infection control practices; keep accurate health records.
• Educate patients on health promotion and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and company departments on health programs.
• Assist with accident investigations and return-to-work initiatives.

As a Part Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Liberty, NC. The scheduled hours are every Wednesday, 6 PM–6 AM. Enjoy the consistent weekly schedule, making it easy to plan ahead while staying active in a fast-paced occupational health setting.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams
