Job summary

Ascension’s Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks an experienced RN for the Observation department on a full-time, night-shift basis. Join a mission-driven health system focused on compassionate care and patient transitions.

You will implement evidence-based care plans, monitor patient changes, coordinate interdisciplinary teams, and ensure accurate order execution to support safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Care Planning: Implement and track customized, evidence-based patient care plans.
• Condition Monitoring: Record and communicate real-time clinical changes to the care team.
• Interdisciplinary Lead: Coordinate all disciplines to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
• Order Execution: Precisely execute physician and nursing directives with clinical accuracy.
• Transition Strategy: Manage discharge planning to ensure safe and successful patient transitions.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
• 2 years Acute Care experience preferred
