Job summary

SoftPath Medical seeks a Pediatric Float Pool Nurse to provide coverage across NICU, PICU, pediatric medical-surgical, PACU, ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units at partner facilities.

The role requires at least two years PICU experience, NICU/PICU float pool familiarity, and current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with Epic proficiency and adherence to float policies. Night shifts; 13-week assignment; 36–48 hours weekly; weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of PICU experience required.
• Experience in NICU/PICU float pool is advantageous.
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system and float policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage across PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby areas.
• Adhere to hospital float policies and ensure safe patient handoffs.
• Work night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week; 13-week assignment.
• Occasional weekends and holidays; limited time off during initial weeks.

Job description

Pediatric Float Pool Nurse

This position involves working as a pediatric float pool nurse, providing coverage across multiple units such as PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby areas.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in PICU and NICU with comfort in caring for pediatric patients is essential.
• Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU settings is considered an advantage.
• A minimum of two years of PICU experience is required.
• Experience in pediatric PACU is strongly preferred.

Certifications

• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Certification in Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding is required; applications with pending certification are acceptable (certification fees apply).

Licensing and Systems

• Compliance with the facility’s float policy is required.
• Applications with a pending state license will be accepted.
• Proficiency with the Epic electronic health record system is necessary.

Shift and Scheduling

• Night shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Block scheduling is not available or guaranteed
• Assignment length: 13 weeks
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Up to 40 hours of time off may be approved; no time off requests will be accepted during the first two weeks of the assignment
