Meda Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care to patients with varying health issues. Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting patient interactions, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The role demands an RN License, BLS, and PALS certifications, along with at least one year of nursing experience.

This is a floating position with a schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates will have strong nursing skills and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
• Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care competently.
• Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
• Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegates tasks to support staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• 1 year of experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
• Some computer skills.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program (preferred).
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).

Schedule

• Weekends and holidays required.
• Float Pool position including floating to 34 bed PICU, 25 bed CICU, and 112 bed NICU.
• 12 hours per day.
• 36 hours per week.

Unit Specific Information

• Float to acute care units - surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem onc, step down unit, cardiac peds.
• Experience with trach, high flow experience, familiar with infusion, first line for skills.
• NICU float only for feeder growers, low acuity, not traditional NICU.

Additional Requirements

• Must have level 1 Trauma experience.
• Able to float in all of children's units.
• Specifically float to acute care units - surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem onc, step down unit, cardiac peds.
• Must have experience with trach, high flow experience, familiar with infusion, first line for skills.
• Could be floated to NICU but only to take care of feeder growers, low acuity, not traditional NICU.
