Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking a Pediatric Float Pool Nurse to cover multiple pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, PACU, ED, and postpartum/mother-baby.

The role requires PICU experience (minimum two years), PACU/NICU experience preferred, and mandatory Epic EMR proficiency. Night shifts on a 36–48 hour weekly schedule; 13-week assignment with alternating weekends/holidays.

Job description

Pediatric Float Pool Nurse

This position involves floating across multiple pediatric units, including the PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in PACU, PICU, and NICU with comfort in caring for pediatric patients is essential.
• Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU is considered an advantage.
• A minimum of two years of PICU experience is required.
• Experience in pediatric PACU is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records is mandatory.

Certifications

• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Certification in Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding is required; applicants may apply with certification pending (note: certification involves a cost).

Shift and Scheduling

• Night shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Block scheduling is not available or guaranteed
• Assignment length: 13 weeks
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Up to 40 hours may be approved for time off; no time off requests are allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
