MetroHealth is seeking an experienced RN to join the Neuroscience Center on 6 West at the Main Campus. The role provides comprehensive neurological patient care in a high-acuity setting, including stroke and neurocritical care, with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.

You will perform detailed neurological assessments, monitor patients with telemetry, titrate medications, manage drains and ventilators, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, physicians, and nursing

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor neurological status.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring and manage patient vitals.
• Administer and titrate medications as ordered.
• Manage surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, and CRRT as needed.
• Provide neurological patient care and maintain NIHSS certification for stroke care.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, therapists, and physicians to coordinate care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

• BSN


• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
