MetroHealth is seeking an experienced RN to join the neuroscience unit in Cleveland. You will provide critical, patient-centered care for adults with stroke and complex neurological conditions on a dedicated 24-bed unit.

Responsibilities include detailed neurologic assessments, ICP monitoring, ventilator and drain management, and NIHSS-based stroke care, with telemetry and rapid-clinical decision support. A BSN and Magnet certification are preferred, with comprehensive benefits offered.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
• Current Ohio RN licensure is required.
• AHA BLS for healthcare providers certification or within 90 days of hire is required.

Mansioni

• Provide specialized nursing care for neuroscience patients on 24-bed unit.
• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor ICP, body temperature, and critical parameters.
• Titrate medications and manage surgical drains, ventilators, and CRRT as assigned.
• Ensure accurate telemetry monitoring and adherance to stroke care protocols including NIHSS.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
