MetroHealth Main Campus seeks an experienced RN to join the Neuroscience Center, 6 West. You will provide neurological ICU care for adults, perform detailed assessments, monitor ICP, manage ventilators, drains, and telemetry. Requirements: Ohio RN licensure, BLS (ACLS preferred), and BSN is preferred.

Shift: 7a–7p/7p–7a with rotating weekends and holidays. MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, certification incentives, medical/dental insurance, and OPERS retirement.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BSN and Magnet Certification preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide neurological ICU nursing care and bedside neuro assessment.
• Monitor ICP, manage ventilators, drains, and CRRT.
• Telemetry and seizure monitoring with critical thinking and delegation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

All Critical Care units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring.

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

• BSN


• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
