Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus—Glick in Northeast Ohio is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neuroscience Center, 6 West, delivering high‑quality care to adults with stroke and neurocritical conditions. You will perform detailed neurological assessments, monitor telemetry, assist with ICP monitoring and ventilator care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• AHA BLS for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitoring.
• Assist with ICP monitoring and electrical telemetry.
• Manage ventilators, drainage systems, and patient temperature, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

• BSN


• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
