Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neuroscience Center 6 West. You will provide detailed neurological assessments, manage ICP monitoring, medication titration, and care for stroke and neurocritical patients.

Required Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and graduation from an accredited nursing program. BSN and Magnet certification are preferred, with rotating 7a-7p shifts and weekend/holiday rotation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a program seeking accreditation.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BSN and Magnet certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Detailed neurological assessments.

• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, and CRRT.
• Telemetry monitoring.
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegation.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary
