Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Night shift RN for the Medical ICU to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, document care details, and support transitions to practice under a nurse preceptor.

Required licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse, BLS within 30 days, and a Diploma or equivalent; ACLS preferred. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Ascension.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent nursing education required, or professional licensure at time of hire.
• Active Florida RN license required prior to hire.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and collaborate with a registered nurse.
• Assist with patient care, observe and document patient health needs, and communicate information to the RN and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under RN supervision.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, and record changes in patient condition.
• Engage in transition-to-practice programs to develop clinical thinking and safe, person-centered care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization and in collaboration with a registered nurse.

• Assist with patient care including observation and documentation of patient healthcare needs and communication of pertinent information to the registered nurse and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Communicate, monitor and record changes in patient condition as appropriate.

• Actively engage and participate in transition to practice programs in order to develop clinical thinking and enhanced clinical judgment to provide safe, competent, person-centered care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
