Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN, seeks a registered nurse for the Float Pool supporting Day Shift and PRN coverage. You will provide direct nursing care in a diverse acute care environment and coordinate interdisciplinary care to ensure safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Requirements include BLS within 30 days, TN RN license (or compact state), a nursing diploma, and 12+ months of hospital direct care experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed RN credentialed by TN Board or compact state before hire date.
• Diploma from accredited nursing program or required licensure at hire.
• Minimum 12 months direct care experience in a hospital setting.

• Implements and updates patient care plans; documents and communicates changes.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provides direct nursing care in a diverse acute care environment in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implements, monitors, and updates patient care plans while assessing, documenting, and communicating changes in patient condition.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary care to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
• Executes physician and nursing orders while prioritizing and managing patient care needs across varying assignments and acuity levels.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 12+ months of direct care experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
